Play All Your Media Files with VLC Media Player

How annoying is it when you've spent a few hours downloading a movie file only to not have the codec? Without the proper video codec, your movie either plays with no video, scrambled video, or inverted colors. Sound codecs are another problem that you would have to deal with. This has always been a constant battle for me on both the PC and Macintosh platforms.

Rather than searching for which codecs that you need wouldn't it be nice to have a player that comes bundled with the proper codecs.

VLC has support for CDs, DVDs, and all the other viral videos that you watch on the net.

The interface itself is very simplistic, but really nothing much to look at.

I have been testing out VLC Media Player for a few weeks now and I have yet to find a movie that won't play on this player. This is definitely worth downloading and using on a regular basis.

VLC Media Player can be downloaded on their site along with full details on which types of files that this awesome player supports.

UPDATE: Sometimes media files will play with inverted colors. To fix this, you can try changing the video output module.
